Halyna Petrosaniak (Галина Петросаняк)

Halyna Petrosaniak (Галина Петросаняк), born 1969 in the Ukrainian Carpathians, is a poet, translator, and literary critic. She studied philology in Ivano-Frankivsk and graduated in 1992. Her fifth volume of poetry, Екзофонія (Exophony), was recently translated into German and published in Switzerland. Halyna has also written the short-story collection Не заважай мені рятувати світ (Don’t Stop Me from Saving the World) and the novel Вілла Анемона (Villa Anemone), and translated a number of books from German into Ukrainian, most recently Nächstes Jahr in Jerusalem (Next Year in Jerusalem) by André Kaminski. Her literary accolades include the Hubert Burda Prize (2007) and the Ivan Franko Prize (2010).
